“Our 18th Build – And By Far the Easiest” | Symcorp Client Story

From the First Meeting to the Finished Home

At the beginning of their building journey, Andrew and Colette spoke about the importance of finding a builder they could trust. They had met with several builders before choosing Symcorp, ultimately deciding that the honesty, communication and collaborative approach of the team felt right.

Eight months after the slab was poured, they're now living in the finished home, and able to reflect on whether those first impressions translated into the building experience they were hoping for.

For Andrew, who has been through the process 18 times, the answer is clear: this was by far the easiest build they've completed.

A Truly Custom Home

From the beginning, Colette had a clear vision for their new home. She wanted a Modern Hamptons design that felt distinctly theirs, rather than adapting their ideas to suit a predetermined house design.

The finished home reflects that approach.

Andrew describes the property as completely customised, with the details delivered as they had requested and a finished result that exceeded their expectations.

That's ultimately what custom home building should achieve. It's not simply about changing a standard floor plan. It's about understanding how a client wants to live and bringing together design, construction and craftsmanship to create a home specifically for them.

Eight Months From Slab to Moving In

Building a highly customised home doesn't have to mean accepting an unnecessarily drawn-out construction period.

For this project, Andrew and Colette went from slab stage to moving into their new home in approximately eight months. Andrew says even other homeowners building around them were surprised by how quickly the house progressed.

That speed wasn't about rushing construction. It came from planning, coordination and maintaining momentum throughout the project.

Regular weekly meetings helped keep decisions moving, while Buildertrend gave the homeowners visibility over what was happening on site. Daily photographs and project updates meant they could follow progress and stay connected to the build throughout construction.

The Relationship Doesn't End at Handover

Andrew makes an important point in the video: after 18 builds, he doesn't expect everything to be perfect simply because the keys have been handed over.

Homes are complex, and occasionally something will need attention after completion. What matters is how the builder responds.

When a stormwater issue emerged just two days before Christmas, the Symcorp team didn't tell the homeowners it would have to wait until the new year. Trades were organised, the issue was addressed and the problem was resolved.

For Andrew, that response spoke volumes.

A builder's reputation isn't only shaped by the quality of the home on handover day. It's also built through accountability and the willingness to stand behind the work once the owners have moved in.

Would They Build With Symcorp Again?

Perhaps the best indication of a successful custom home build is whether a client would choose the same builder again.

Andrew's answer is an immediate yes.

More importantly, Andrew and Colette have been comfortable sharing their experience with other homeowners in their development. One of those neighbours has already chosen to start their own build with Symcorp.

Their story began with finding a builder they felt they could trust. It ends with a home they plan to enjoy for many years—and enough confidence in the experience to recommend that same team to the people building around them.
