The brief for Gibraltar St was clear: create a home that feels like a private resort while maintaining the structural integrity required for a high-exposure saltwater environment.

The design features a striking "stacked" aesthetic, with cantilevered balconies and floor-to-ceiling glazing that provides uninterrupted views of the private jetty and canal.

Engineering for the Elements

Living on the water in Surfers Paradise is the dream, but it comes with the reality of salt spray. Symcorp integrated 316 Marine-Grade stainless steel and high-spec powder-coated finishes throughout the exterior.

The upper-level facade utilises architectural screening that provides privacy from the street while allowing for maximum airflow; essential for those humid Gold Coast summers.

Key Build Features:

• Seamless Transition: The ground floor was engineered with recessed door tracks, allowing the main living area to open entirely to the alfresco deck, infinity pool, and the canal beyond.

• Architectural Facade: The street-front view is defined by a bold, dark-timbered garage and curved white render, creating a sophisticated contrast that stands out on Gibraltar St.

• Waterfront Integration: The build included the integration of a private pontoon and reinforced seawall landscaping, ensuring the transition from the home to the water was as functional as it is beautiful.

Interior & Layout

Inside, the plans focus on volume and light. High ceilings and a central void allow natural light to penetrate deep into the home. The material palette uses soft oak, natural stone, and minimalist joinery to ensure the focus remains on the stunning water views.
