The Brief: Moving Past the 'Modern Coastal' Trend

Sophie Ave was a breath of fresh air. The owners were over the typical white-on-white 'Modern Coastal' look and wanted more of an 'Executive' aesthetic. 

The plan was all about scale—using massive concrete cantilevers to create a sleek, sharp silhouette from the street while making sure the entire back of the house completely disappeared to pull the canal inside.

Engineering for Broadbeach Waters

Broadbeach Waters doesn't play nice with light-weight materials. We went heavy on the structural engineering here, using suspended concrete slabs for that rock-solid feel and incredible acoustics between floors.

A massive standout is the Bohemian Flame stone. It’s a dark, copper-flecked stone we used across the kitchen and wet areas to anchor those darker, sophisticated tones. To keep it from feeling like a cave, we engineered a central void that floods the living zone with light without giving the neighbours a front-row seat to the lounge room.

Key Features We Love:

• The Master Wing: This is more like a hotel penthouse than a bedroom. It’s got its own wet bar and an ensuite positioned specifically so you can watch the Surfers skyline while you’re in the tub.
• Flush-Finish Alfresco: We used recessed tracks for the sliders so the kitchen floor flows onto the deck without a single bump. We even tucked a high-tech infrared BBQ into the terrace for the ultimate outdoor setup.
• Ready for the Water: It wouldn't be a Symcorp canal build without the infrastructure. We handled the seawall landscaping and custom pontoon install so the owners could bring the boat around on day one.

Smart Design: More Than Just Water Views

Most Broadbeach builds just look at the water. This one is smarter; it looks at the Surfers Paradise skyline. We spent a lot of time on the landing heights and void placements to make sure those city lights are visible from nearly every corner of the house.
